Wonderful World

Musical Monday: What a Wonderful World Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Is it just me or do you also notice that sometimes when you are required to write something concise, you could hardly do so? All weekend this was my trouble. I drafted a research proposal overview that, if approved, would involve textual analysis of National Trust publications -actually simple to look at but taxing to put together. Louise Armstrong's What a Wonderful World would be one way to describe a part of it. Diane hosts Musical Monday @ Good Mourning, Glory! ************************** Monday Mayhem: I love this about... Yes, no, and in the air tonight

Musical Monday: In The Air Tonight Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem It was either Don Johnson or someone whose name I didn't pay as much attention to. Globe-trotting, short-term boyfriend mentioned that he briefly worked with one Miami Vice actor. Then off he went out to finish a meeting while I stayed behind to finish viewing bundles of photos. In one snapshot the guy he pointed out as the actor preceded him on the stairs of a plane. My mind ambled along opening scenes of The Real McCoy; the roar of Ferrari as Burnett and Tubbs sped on a dark highway interspersed with Phil Collins' bark-like "oh lord, oh lord, oh lord..." God I must have existed in the 80s already :D Diane hosts Musical Monday. Somebody and Something

Musical Monday: Somebody to love Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem My kiddo discovered 1930s Mickey Mouse clips on youtube. The only trick that could prise him off the computer was to go out to eat his favorite steak. Back at the apartment I tempered his new addiction by making up Mickey's girlfriend, Ella of Frell; that Ella is his complete opposite: Ella obeys, CJ resists. He lasted til Somebody to love , which is thankfully what I particularly wanted to rewatch; my best consolation for not being able to see Alice over the weekend. Shopping, divorcing, life moves on

Musical Monday: All My Life Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem On Wednesday, March 10th is my wedding and divorce anniversary. (Is there a divorce anniversary? *lol) Yes, I got married and divorced on the same date. "So we remember only one date for two events," ex-hubster explained. Documents lay on the table. We faced each other. The divorce official chuckled. "Where are you going?" ex asked, his eyeball rolling towards the UK visa sticking out of my passport. "It's sweltering outside. Why is your girlfriend not inside?" I ignored the familiar bossy tone. "She's scared of you." Scared... I gripped the urge to laugh as I reviewed the papers with only one aim besides getting rid of him: full child custody. "Gosh, I should be changing aircrafts in Paris, not middle east," my mind shot back to my upcoming trip. Ah well, he got the real estate, liquid assets and all his golf clubs. I got the kid, the dog, and all the photo album

To all the girls I've loved before

Musical Monday: Diggah Tunnah Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Yesterday the blogosphere was humming Disney. I'm still in the mood for it today. My Lion King - crazy five-year old insists on staring amazed (with mouth agape) at these meerkats and hyenas. I enjoy the animation as well so it ends up as the tune that moves us today. Rewrites

Musical Monday: Love is the answer Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Last time I checked, my civil status hasn't shrouded my perception of what is smile-inducing. Before signing those papers, I used to play this song while speeding on expressways. I may not completely agree that love is the answer to everything, but I certainly believe the tune helps fight off boredom on the steering wheel, even now that there's no wheel to steer and I'm using legs to go mobile. I cherish the pleasant; bury the b******. The thought moves me. I will if I could but I can't so I won't

Musical Monday: I Know I Need to be in Love (Karen Carpenter) Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem There's this valentine joke among Filipino coeds that dooms those without a date on February 14th to a virtual firing squad. Venue for the 'execution' is always on a mountain peak, and those on 'death row' are required to hike up ala-Via Dolorosa. Well, yesterday I was on death row yet again, and like any law-abiding citizen, I climbed to the peak. In high heels and long dress. Old maid me had so much fun watching lovey-dovey couples along the way. Now let me see if "the price I paid" and am still paying "is high enough for me" or "let's keep it simple:" worth it all.
