To all the girls I've loved before

Musical Monday: Diggah Tunnah Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Yesterday the blogosphere was humming Disney. I'm still in the mood for it today. My Lion King - crazy five-year old insists on staring amazed (with mouth agape) at these meerkats and hyenas. I enjoy the animation as well so it ends up as the tune that moves us today. Rewrites

Musical Monday: Love is the answer Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Last time I checked, my civil status hasn't shrouded my perception of what is smile-inducing. Before signing those papers, I used to play this song while speeding on expressways. I may not completely agree that love is the answer to everything, but I certainly believe the tune helps fight off boredom on the steering wheel, even now that there's no wheel to steer and I'm using legs to go mobile. I cherish the pleasant; bury the b******. The thought moves me. I will if I could but I can't so I won't

Musical Monday: I Know I Need to be in Love (Karen Carpenter) Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem There's this valentine joke among Filipino coeds that dooms those without a date on February 14th to a virtual firing squad. Venue for the 'execution' is always on a mountain peak, and those on 'death row' are required to hike up ala-Via Dolorosa. Well, yesterday I was on death row yet again, and like any law-abiding citizen, I climbed to the peak. In high heels and long dress. Old maid me had so much fun watching lovey-dovey couples along the way. Now let me see if "the price I paid" and am still paying "is high enough for me" or "let's keep it simple:" worth it all. A Filipina at the Dodgers

Musical Monday: Star-Spangled Banner Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem For several weeks I wanted to feature some piece I thought was patriotically moving, but was always sidetracked by something else. This weekend's Super Bowl in the US and today's Monday Mayhem seem in tune with the time to finally post this. Here's 16-year old Charice Pempengco, a Filipina singing America's national anthem at the Dodgers game opening on April 13th 2009. The one you love and bathroom musings

Musical Monday: The One You Love Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Lately I've been thinking of two people I know. Questions posed in this song are similar to the ones I have on my mind about a complicated attachment between them. And I've always loved the saxophone before Eagle's Glenn Frey starts crooning. Diane hosts Head over to Good Mourning, Glory for more music ***************************** Monday Mayhem: Bathroom Musings Please scroll up for Musical Monday 1. What do you read when you are sitting on the toilet? I used to have a tray of my favorite magazines. Now it's virtually nothing. 2. Do you pee in the shower? we're not supposed to, are we? 3. Do you always wash your hands after you use the toilet? yes 4. Do you allow someone to come into the bathroom while you are using the toilet? it happens if I don't shut the door 5. Do you clean your shower in the nude? yes, most of the time 6. When you use the toilet at someone else's house do you

3 Minutes and Another Brick

Musical Monday: Another Brick in the Wall Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem Six periods. It is what my timetable says I am supposed to be dealing with today. But I did only two. Thanks to the power cut we have the rest of the day free and it's only lunchtime. Yohoh! At a quarter to 12 everyone was taking off. The parking lot was excitedly busy. Both students and faculty were in high spirits. As I made my way out of the huge gate I also found myself grinning at some students. They cast me questioning looks so I let them in, "Well, people, during times like these, teachers are probably actually happier than you lot." Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall may not absolutely reflect the culture of my workplace, but it's what rocked in my head today . Meet Me Halfway Scenarios

Musical Monday: Meet Me Halfway Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem 'You' in many love songs usually refers to a person, doesn't it? To me it doesn't. At least this time. It's not just emotions I'm putting on the line these days. It's something more. A new beginning of another life is what I'm putting my attention on. Another life? Did I just say that? Indeed I did. Meet Me Halfway meets the lyrical criteria of what moves me to meet a goal across the sky . And nobody sings it like Kenny Loggins. Title: Meet Me Half Way Artist: Kenny Loggins Lyrics by lyrics007 In a lifetime, made of memories I believe in destiny Every moment returns again in time When I've got the future on my mind Know that you'll be the only one Meet me halfway across the sky Out where the world belongs to only you and I Meet me halfway across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life. In a lifetime there is only love Reaching for the lonely one We are stronger when

Plans and Guesses

MUSICAL MONDAY: Ever Since the World Began - Survivor (Please scroll down a bit for Monday Mayhem) Survivor sings about destiny, a huge puzzle, some big plan. Whatever my destiny is, I'm sure I'm not finished with myself yet. Or if some supernatural power is shaping my course, it is up to me how will I react to the game. I do think I have some say on the remote control. Aside from having no serious question on other claims in this song, there is one line in it that moves me today - "we try and go as far as we can." It is a subtle reflection of what a friend and I have been planning over the holidays. Last night she researched and left her findings on my chat window. I gathered a few documents to produce a tool that will help polish the plan. This year, this start of a new decade, I'm going as far as I can. H ere's wishing all of us inspiration to pursue things that make us and others happy . Diane hosts ~ head over to Good Mourning, Glory! for more music or
