Banter and Negativity

Our Weekend Memoirs: Facebook Banter Please scroll down for Sunday Stealing Yesterday a caption I put under a shared photo on Facebook generated banter. These photos will have to be cropped because these girls must still be sleeping, (it's Sunday morning here); and I haven't asked permission to flash their beauty on my blog today. Tagging got one worried she might eat sermon for a drink she held in her hand. She said she was only " modelling for 100 Pipers" on new year's eve. Alrighty, that's I in red, claiming 'Good girls drink mineral water' which is valid, don't you think? Or I was too drunk yesterday with Austen: photosource Ebie and Arlene host ****************************** Sunday Stealing: The Negativity Meme Please scroll up for Our Weekend Memoirs Today we ripped this meme off blogger named Flea from the blog Flea's World. She states that she stole it at Warty Mammal. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that wi

Mothering and a New Favorite

Friday's Fave Five: Getting Settled with Mothering Please scroll down for Mommy Moments This week flew by very fast! I mean this fast that I noticed it then I couldn't believe it. Yet it was a TGIF greeting for a co-teacher in the lift this morning. It's perhaps because from Monday to Thursday I was like laundry in a washing machine whirling, soaping, rinsing and finally spinning myself to a blessed Friday while snatching faves along the way: i. a write-up finally taking shape It still needs polishing but there it is - 800+ words already and covering almost all points necessary for submission. I strongly suppose Ceejay's full-time stay with me has much to do with its near completion status for I am ii. getting settled with mothering Although having to look after Ceejay without a caregiver now (the ex terminated her services) terrified me at first, I am thankful that my struggling efforts to try anyway are turning out okay. I'm sleeping with a baseball bat and there

The Herb Wagon

Whilst strolling the grounds of St Mary' s church in Scarborough, I was humming "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme..." All I saw though was Anne Bronte's grave in the shadow of Scarborough Castle. Of course Scarborough Fair ended in 1788. Showing up in 2006 was rather late. I didn't get the T-shirt but I got the mug from which I sipped coffee yesterday in the faculty lounge. With Sherri Buck Baldwin's lovely painting on it, moccona has never tasted better. Sarah J Home Decor Either you are like me - curious at what's on a painting or fond of herbs for whatever purpose, 'tis sweet of the manufacturer to have contents of the Herb Wagon written in gothic-like font around the mug: (I collect mugs) 1. Lavender, Angelica 2. Lemon Verbena, Ginger Mint 3. Tarragon, Bee Balm 4. Fennel, Lovage 5. Meadowsweet, Chervil 6. Star Anise, Artemisa 7. Marjoram, Chicory 8. Oregano, Sage, Thyme 9. Dill, Saffron, Bay Leaf 10. Sweet Basil, Coriander, Cilantro 11. Parsley

Meet Me Halfway Scenarios

Musical Monday: Meet Me Halfway Please scroll down for Monday Mayhem 'You' in many love songs usually refers to a person, doesn't it? To me it doesn't. At least this time. It's not just emotions I'm putting on the line these days. It's something more. A new beginning of another life is what I'm putting my attention on. Another life? Did I just say that? Indeed I did. Meet Me Halfway meets the lyrical criteria of what moves me to meet a goal across the sky . And nobody sings it like Kenny Loggins. Title: Meet Me Half Way Artist: Kenny Loggins Lyrics by lyrics007 In a lifetime, made of memories I believe in destiny Every moment returns again in time When I've got the future on my mind Know that you'll be the only one Meet me halfway across the sky Out where the world belongs to only you and I Meet me halfway across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life. In a lifetime there is only love Reaching for the lonely one We are stronger when

A Concert and a Trivia

Our Weekend Memoirs: Dionne Warwick Live in Bangkok Please scroll down for Sunday Stealing Sorting a visa problem doesn't have to be guantanamosh. The Thai Immigration Department gave me 7 days before they granted me a longer 365. I used the leeway making sure I didn't end up prosecuted as that's how the threat was stamped on my passport. So while our liaison officer was meeting lawyers, I was revelling in my Sunday night dreams with a hit maker. photosource One of the main things I bought the ticket for was a good video of a Warwick song that disappeared on youtube - I'll Never Love this Way Again . It felt good to finally hear it live and see the legend herself. Bangkokians dispersing That's What Friends Are For was brilliantly performed. David Elliott Warwick did a great job singing for Stevie Wonder and Elton John's parts with his famous mom. Chette and I lingered for awhile in this area after the concert and here's on our way out of Thailand Cultura

Newborn Days and Foggy Mornings

Friday's Fave Five: Foggy Mornings (Please scroll down for Mommy Moments) Refund . The business office refunded my visa problem expenses. I had to pay the fine but they took care of everything else which was a pleasant surprise as I didn't expect them to and I already conditioned my mind to face a few deprivations. A colleague who is privy to the vice president told me, "They refunded you because they need you." I don't know whether I should believe it. Foreign employees are sometimes treated like necessary evil around here. But well, it's the refund that's the fave. Foggy mornings . I counted two early mornings of fog. I could not see buildings 2 minute-walk away. The illusion of cold made me smile. Bible Heroes , Ceejay's new DVD interest. He never wanted to watch it when he was 3. I'm glad he's back to christian stuff. For now it's goodbye, Buddhism. Phone conversation with Mama . Mozart's (on left side bar below Ceejay) christ
