Soul alight

This Friday is just great! I had a few irritants up my back and didn't count on coming up with a set of faves, but although life sometimes looks so dim, it also has pleasant surprises so here I am --

Possibilities
I'm working on publishing a couple of academic articles and found a feasible place for them.

Facebook thrill
It's been 22 years since high school graduation, and so wonderful to reconnect and reminisce with former classmates and teen crushes.

Another sentence, clear and straight!
There's something I'm fixing nowadays. It's why I was absent from the blogosphere for some time (wrote a page about it). CJ is making significant progress and I'm on cloud nine. Although he uttered "I'm the winner, you're the loser" to his friend, I'm okay with that. I mean CJ sounds like he got some of his Dad's cold and hard, competitive stock market spirit; but as long as there is improvement or anything better than the present clinical impression, I'm for it.

Friends who ask and listen
and don't chicken out even when you sound scary and toxic. The best part is they offer positive advice, and I'm so grateful they're around.

Eclipse
No matter how momentary, it is amusing to ogle at the teeth-chattering scene, feel like an 18-year old again and forget problems.

Visit Susanne @ Living to tell the Story for more faves.

  3. So glad that CJ is making progress!

Friends who ask and listen are priceless! Just saw this quote today: "Your friends are God's gift to you, just as you are His gift to them." I don't know who said it, but it's true!

  4. Jerri, thanks for the quote. Makes me think how I conduct myself towards friends.

  5. It's great about CJ. A chip off the old block I would say with some very good parenting by one woman that we all love and cherish of course. I think any friend that asks and listens is worth their weight in gold whether it be right or wrong. Intelligent conversations transpire :) Have a great weekend. Great FFF my friend :) Glad you are back at least a little :)

  7. I especially agree with #4, it is good to have friends who stay close when we are scary and toxic. A friend like that is forever.

Glad you were able to find some things to be thankful for in a tough situation.

  8. I have to agree with #4 as well........those kind are few and far between! Glad you have some :) Have a very blessed weekend!

  10. Hope all goes well with the articles!

I've enjoyed reconnecting with people on Facebook, too.

I couldn't get the page to open, but it sounds like CJ's making good progress.

    I so agree with #4!

Don't you just love facebook - I've found many school friends too it's great.

p.s. I can't recall wheather it was the north or south thailand that practice the hand washing. Although they showed customs from all over thailand.
    Happy week.

  15. Facebook, keeps me connected with people far away.

I went to read about JC and couldn't get the page to open. I'm sure that his progress will continue to develop, good job.

#4 I guess it is a true friend who knows when we are scary and toxic that we will return to normal and a true friend who stays around to listen.

They're just breasts

What is it about men and nudity? Particularly breasts... How can you be so interested in them? I mean seriously: they're just breasts. Every second person has them. They're odd looking, they're for milk from your mother. What's all the fuss about? In case you were wondering... that was Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) talking to William (Hugh Grant) the morning after they slept together. Notting Hill has been awhile. So have breasts. But not these features of the Woman and Child gallery at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre. They are fairly recent. Stress and joys, adventures and challenges, you name it. It's wonderful to have the chance to express gratefulness for making it through this final week of a beautiful month. i. Surviving a task at work on finance/statistics: not my expertise but I did it. ii. Another world landmark off the bucket list. Taj Mahal is quite a love monument. iii.
