Fancy a splash?

The Big Chili continues to behave like an oven. As I type this, I am chatting on the phone with a friend who is speeding on an Arabian expressway. She reports it's pouring around Abu Dhabi. I tell her I'm going island-hopping. In my dream, that is. For now I am grateful for faves of the week::

Life-saving AC. Since walking around in rising temps this invention has become my best friend. And as for the board room thingy with an amusing laptop reflection that's bluer than the blue above it, that's where I was officially informed about 

Remuneration. I thought it went with the normal salary but it seems the university is happy to pay researchers extra.


Imagination. It does help when there is something to look forward to.


Tax sorted. A colleague fixed a little problem in it for me. Until next year Mr Tax. For now I'm celebrating with some
 
Cold Stone delight. A yummy antidote to the notorious Bangkok heat.


I may still fancy a splash. It's seriously hot in here. When things at work calm down, it's going to be a cool splash. Here's wishing us all a great week.

    It's morning here but hey, I can eat ice cream any time of day rofl. I am a sucker for water and sky meeting up at the horizon interrupted by rock and/or people. Nice images.

    Sounds like a very rewarding week! We got our taxes straightened out this week, too, with my dad's help.

    I would have a hard time surviving without AC in the summer here. The heat just seems to drain all my energy.

    How neat that you got extra pay for the research you did!

    My husband just got our taxes done a couple of weeks ago, with good results. Glad that's over for another year.

    oh i'm so thankful for AC too although we usually don't need it until late July or mid August in eastern NY unless it gets very humid. that ice cream looks fantastic!! And the beach scene...love it! enjoy the weekend!

    I lived in Indonesia---I remember HOT. AC is our best friend, for sure.

What spirit is so empty and blind that it cannot recognize the fact that the foot is more noble than the shoe, and skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed? - Michelangelo  Why is the Mom in this family picture smiling? Oh, I know. The Dad is wearing shoes. Old Photo Album But my mother was also smiling in our family photo. All three of us look about the same age as this family. Mama said she explicitly told Papa that day long ago that we would sit for a family portrait so we were to don something formal. But lo and behold Papa came in flip flops! Mama wasn't very happy about it. She still placed our picture neatly in the family album though. Family is family, slippers or stilettos. What is unknown to me, besides the identity of this family, is how Father (rest in peace, Pap) ended up in the photo studio wearing slippers when he wore shoes virtually all the time. It's where I spent two months of great adventure with college buddies at about the same age as the young adult artists in this video  We Are The World for Philippines ( Cover by Filipino Artsts ) This is the church where I served as piano accompanist for the 1990 summer student choir, and some of the services.
