Monday Mayhem: The Return of Lola's Holiday Meme

1. What is your favorite holiday show/animated show? I know there are so many out there, but my life is riddled with work right now. It also is no help that this country I am in does not recognize Christmas except for commercial purposes.

2. What holiday character do you think you're most like? -pass-

3. What holiday character does your spouse think you're most like? Spouseless me. Even if I had any most probably he'd be too frozen to think of this stuff this time

4. Favorite Christmas/holiday song? 'Although it's been said many times, many ways Merry Christmas to you!'

5. Most hated Christmas/holiday song? I may not like some but I don't hate any

6. If you have an all holiday music radio station when do you start listening to it? As soon as the music is available in the airwaves

7. If you have an all holiday music radio station do you love it or hate it? I would love to love it

8. Have you ever wrapped yourself as a Christmas/holiday present? Come on...you can tell!Nice idea... but DHL will probably not ship me

9. Who is Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer's father? No idea

10. Do you drive your neighborhood or one near you at night to look at other people's holiday decorations? If I had time I would do it

11. When you see a heavily decorated house do you think, 'oh that's lovely'? Or do you think, 'oh criminy, that looks like Christmas threw up all over their lawn'? I prefer the first reaction.

12. Are you counting the days to Christmas/Holidays with excited anticipation or dread? Anticipation if there were plans. I make no room for dread.

13. When was the last time you had your photo taken with Santa? Did you sit on his lap? I may try this kind of photo shoot one of these Christmases.

14. Do you make a Christmas/Holiday list for your spouse or significant other or do you rely on them to pick your gift(s) without a clue from you? I used to drop hints... until I gave up.

15. When do you put up your tree and/or menorah/and or anything else? Four Decembers ago I put up one and once about two weeks before Christmas. That tree was packaged to me from the other side of the world.

16. If tree- Real or fake? Real

17. When do you take your tree/decorations down? At home the week after New Year's day

18. Do you shop the day after Christmas sales? What do you shop for? After Christmas I am usually too lazy to shop

19. Is your work/office having a holiday party this year? Will you attend? Yes and no

20. Do you have your New Year's Eve Plans set yet? Not yet but the plan is taking shape

  4. WOOT!!! Excellent song choice my friend. I've never heard of them before but this was excellent. :) Very well done.

Hmmm you know if you think about it there aren't very many women characters for Christmas. Odd isn't it. But the more I think about it the more there isn't for most major holidays. Chauvinist pigs if you ask me LOL Great answers my friend.

Happy Holidays to you and CJ and your family :)

  9. I have never heard of this group, but they do an amazing rendition of this song. Thank you so much for posting it - I love it.
I like your answers to the questions, also. But don't feel too bad about your country be overly commercialized about Christmas, the USA has gotten a lot like that also. It just takes people to remember the true meaning.
Thank you for plahying along with our blog, I hope you continue to do so next year.
Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

Tacloban . It's where I spent two months of great adventure with college buddies at about the same age as the young adult artists in this video  We Are The World for Philippines ( Cover by Filipino Artsts ) This is the church where I served as piano accompanist for the 1990 summer student choir, and some of the services. According to reports it was filled with dead bodies when this shot was taken. I'd like to commemorate the highlights:   One Voice: Help Haiyan Victims was a serendipity. Organizing events is something I had to pay money to study in grad school. But it was live learning right there that night and observing the process was free. Skywatch : Mission Tacloban The Bangkok Charity Orchestra   reflected tranquility in their music. Honor, Awards and a Game

Tuesday Couch Potatoes: Made of Honor Awards and a Game/Meme follow. Please scroll down a bit. My pick for this week's TCP theme (wedding movie) is Made of Honor. I like the humor in it. We've all been to several weddings but how many of us can say I've been to one in which the maid of honor was a he? The scene which particularly cracked me up is when the priest mistook the maid of honor for a gay man =) If you're familiar with some of my likes, you'd know why I also love the Scotland location of the wedding. For more of the synopsis click here ; and here's the trailer: Head over to Just About Anything for more wedding movies. ************ My super duper bloggy friend Thom of Thom's Place for Well Whatever and fellow Mom Tetcha of Pensive Thoughts awarded me this Beautiful Blogger award. I have to list seven things about me so here they are: 1. I love wearing jeans more than skirts. 2. One of my favorite colors is purple. 3. I don't mind spending su

Dyslexics and Developmental Pediatricians

Let me begin with an observation on the latter.  Developmental pediatricians in the Philippines are a rare breed. Or that's what I noticed. From society and organization websites, to forums, to word-of-mouth, to my own experience, they seem to be outnumbered by people who need their expertise. A parent of a child with developmental delays has to wait weeks or months to see one developmental pediatrician. Only thirty are listed on the Philippine Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Twenty-five in one Filipino autism blog, and that is not purely DevPeds. A child psychologist, child psychiatrist, and pediatric neurologist are mixed in the list, although they certainly are a big help too. At my son's speech therapy and psychology center I hear the same account from other parents - securing a time slot with a DevPed is hard. They are all fully booked throughout what could turn into a year. You may be lucky if someone withdraws but that rarely happens. I'm playing
